Mother's Day Crafts for Kids
Need Ideas for Mother's Day Crafts for Kids?
Some of the most touching Mother's Day gifts are those homemade treats from our kids. Sometimes, they create memorable crafts as school projects. Other times, kids want to make a special gift at home.
Kids can create all kinds of crafts for mom. Suggestions include bath salts, homemade cards, foam photo frame, wind chimes and more.
First, talk to your students, scouts or kids and ask them for ideas. They may know the type of craft they'd like to work on for Mother's Day. Or they may want to create a certain kind of gift but need help with putting it together.
If you need ideas, here's a list of craft kits that will delight moms on their special day: a foam hanger, in the shape of a child's hand; handmade sticker cards; a wind chime; and a stepping stone. We've also included a craft book that will help with more ideas.
My son has made some wonderful handmade gifts for Mother's Day. One of my favorites hangs in my kitchen. He made it in first grade. It's a tracing of his hand, which they colored in marker. They added this as a 'flower' to a large sheet of construction paper. They added to the hand-shaped flower by adding construction paper green stem and leaves. He signed it with love. Every time I see it, I remember how happy he was in making it for me. And I think about how big his hand - and he - has grown since then.
Here's to making Mother's Day crafts that will create memories for years to come!

Mother's Day Hand Keepsake Craft Kit (12 count)
Make mom a cute Mother's Day hand keepsake craft. These personalized hand crafts are memorable because they capture a moment in time, and a child's hand print.
This package is perfect for day care, school, scouts, and after school programs because you'll receive enough materials for 12 crafts.
Most of the kit items are pre-cut. The main part of the craft - the hand -- needs to be cut manually. This is great because the child's hands will be an outline of their hand (rather than a standard hand shape).
You will need scissors and foam glue, which are not included in the kit.
4M Make a Wind Chime
Kids will have fun making mom a wind chime with this craft kit.
It includes materials to make one chime: 2 terra cotta pots, chime rods, paint strip, cord, line, and a brush. Instructions are included.
After assembling the chime, kids will enjoy painting and decorating it.
Sweet craft. Every time the wind blows and creates pretty music, mom will think of her kids.

Supervision is necessary, and it's not appropriate for kids under 3 because of the small pieces.
It's also a winner of the 1998 Parents Choice Approval stamp.
